|This map explores two spectra: one that deals with emotion, color and mood, and another that is concerned with abstraction and realism. The left side deals with the color blue (ultra violet, or Picasso's blue period), while the right side deals with the color red (infrared, or Picasso's rose period). In terms of the vertical spectrum, the closer to the top a portrait is, the more abstract and set in fantasy it is. The closer a portrait is to the bottom, then the more realistic and grounded in reality it is. This map is an attempt to plot out how combinations of color and line affect where portraits fall into either spectrum.
